Purpose: Transfer of vertical load from floor panel and wall above to wall below. Can also transfer in-plane and out-of-plane loads between the wall and floor panel.
Design Notes
- Capacity of primary load path is controlled by perpendicular-to-grain bearing capacity of floor panel or wood stud walls.
- Dowel-type fasteners provide load path for in-plane and out-of-plane loads.
- Because the wood-framed walls are not rated for fire resistance, there is no need to rate the connection for fire resistance.
