Panel Holdown with Rod System

Panel bearing on concrete is connected to concrete with embed with welded threaded stud above. Rod systems consists of anchor rod embedded in concrete and oversized plate and nut used to connect panel to rod at notch in panel.

Purpose: Transfer of vertical uplift load from panel to concrete.

Design Notes

  • Capacity of connection is dependent on parallel to grain capacity of panel at oversized washer or shear capacity of the panel.
  • Connection may also use post-installed or cast-in anchor instead of embed in concrete.
  • Refer to other details in this table for gravity load transfer along length of panel to concrete connection.
