Regional Online Seminar (NC, SC, TN)
With an increase in wood-frame buildings, more designers are seeking information on code-compliant and constructible detailing. Many are unsure of the code’s requirements for details, specifically at the intersection of rated assemblies and where structure and fire protection meet. This presentation will focus interior fire-rated assemblies such as firewalls, fire barriers and fire partitions. Discussion will include fire-resistance rating continuity, allowable uses of wood framing in rated assemblies, and allowable penetrations.

Jessica brings to our team her enthusiasm for the construction industry and over a decade of experience in architectural design, structural engineering, project management, and acoustics—having worked on projects across the U.S. and Canada. In joining WoodWorks, Jessica proudly becomes the third generation of her family to work in the wood products industry. A creative and analytical thinker, Jessica thrives when solving complex problems, creating, and talking “all things design.” She holds a Master of Civil Engineering from Clemson University and a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from UNC Charlotte. She is based in the Charlotte area.
