Navigating the Dynamics of Mass Timber Delegated Design
Sub Title Goes Here
On mass timber projects, a delegated design engineer is often brought onto the team to handle specific components of timber-related engineering. Their scope can vary from connection design to member sizing and complete timber design packages. A complexity in this dynamic that teams must plan for is the handoff between the Architect of Record (AOR) or Engineer of Record (EOR) to the specialty engineer, which can be a grey area and result in confusion around each party’s scope of work. Through this presentation, attendees will gain a deep understanding of the roles and responsibilities of all parties involved, focusing on the crucial information that the AOR/EOR must provide to the delegated design engineer. Through case studies and real-world examples, participants will explore lessons learned, common pitfalls, and best practices to ensure successful collaboration and project execution.
