Guidance on durability detailing for mid-rise, multi-family wood buildings, including construction moisture mitigation, control layer continuity, and critical intersections such as balconies and parapets
As with any building, durability and resilience are critical to the success of mid-rise wood-frame structures. Buildings of all materials, sizes and scales are subject to moisture effects, both during construction and long term, and each requires its own considerations. In this webinar, experts in the fields of enclosure and structural wood detailing will present their unique perspectives on durability detailing for mid-rise, multi-family buildings. They’ll touch on topics such as construction-phase moisture protection of wood-frame wall and floor assemblies, including details to accommodate temporary expansion of sheathing products, long-term durability detailing where building enclosure and structure intersect at critical points such as balconies and roof parapets, and how to maintain control layer continuity where structure interrupts elements such as water-resistive barriers and insulation.
