Cheaha State Park Lodge Tour: A Firsthand Look at Mass Timber Construction
October 14 @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm CDT
- In Person

Regional In-Person Tour (Delta, AL)
This unique educational event will provide an in-depth look at Alabama’s largest cross-laminated timber (CLT) construction project, the 29,000 square-foot Cheaha State Park Lodge. The five-story, 32-unit hotel design features wood sourced from Alabama timber across three towers in a variety of configurations. Designers prioritized the use of sustainable building materials and the biophilic benefits that wood provides building occupants, incorporating exposed mass timber elements throughout. The tour format encourages questions and discussion, and attendees will tour the site with members of the project team. Through shared insights and group discussion, attendees can expect to learn about strategies for successful, code-compliant mass timber projects, including material selection, design, detailing, and construction techniques utilized throughout the building.
Please join us for lunch following the tour.
