Mass Timber in Multi-Family Housing + Tour of 179 North 10th St
May 1 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm EDT
- In Person

Regional In-Person Seminar & Tour (Brooklyn, NY)
Explore mass timber in multi-family buildings in this two-part educational program.
The hour-long seminar provides an overview of mass timber multi-family projects and how they make financial sense in the 4-6 story range in New York City and beyond.
The program continues with an on-site tour of 179 N 10th St., currently the tallest modern mass timber building in NYC at 7 stories. The 42,500-square-foot, 23-unit project utilizes cross-laminated timber and glulam, with exposed timber balconies and columns. Members of the project team will be available to provide insights on design decisions—including seeking Passive House certification—and lessons learned.
After the tour, join fellow attendees for on-site networking. Refreshments will be provided.
Credits: Attendees can earn 1.0 AIA/CES HSW LU, 1.0 PDH credit or 0.1 ICC credit for the seminar and 1.0 AIA/CES HSW LU, 1.0 PDH credit or 0.1 ICC credit for the tour
