This presentation will provide an introductory review of architectural considerations associated with wood framing. Fire protection and sprinklers, construction types, acoustics, and building envelopes in wood-frame structures will be reviewed, with an emphasis on cost-effective, code-compliant options for different building configurations.

Anthony Harvey, PE | WoodWorks
A licensed Professional Engineer in Kentucky, Anthony received his BS and MS in Civil Engineering from the University of Kentucky, both with structural specialization. Before joining WoodWorks, he spent more than a decade working as a design consultant. He has experience in structural design, 3D modeling and detailing (REVIT), construction administration, inspections, and project management for a variety of project types, including: healthcare, office, retail, K-12/higher education, historical, industrial/distillery, municipal, military, multi-family, and mixed-used buildings. Anthony is also a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve where, as an Engineer Officer, he has held various leadership and staff positions.

Emmy is a licensed professional engineer in Colorado with experience in structural design for multi-family, commercial, and mixed-use projects. Driven by her passion for sustainable construction, Emmy is focused on helping AEC+D professionals explore opportunities in light-frame and mass timber design for the betterment of the environment and society. She is a proud alumna of the Colorado School of Mines, holding BS and MS degrees in Civil Engineering.
