DESCRIPTION:Regional In-Person Tour (Layton\, UT)\n\n\nThis educational tour will provide an in-depth look at Timberwood Creek\, a permanent supportive housing project in Layton\, Utah\, funded and developed by Davis Behavioral Health. The project features a hybrid structural system combining mass timber—including cross-laminated timber (CLT) floor panels and glue-laminated timber (glulam) beams—with light-frame wood walls and steel framing. This innovative approach leverages the strengths of multiple structural systems to support efficient construction while highlighting wood as a sustainable building material that contributes to reduced environmental impact and a warm\, natural aesthetic. Attendees will tour the project and learn about the integration of hybrid structural systems\, detailing\, construction sequencing\, and sustainability considerations\, including the benefits of wood as a renewable resource. The tour format encourages questions and discussion\, and participants will gain insights into the design strategies\, material choices\, and construction considerations that shaped the project. \nPlease join us for networking and refreshments following the tour. \n  \nPPE: Please bring your own PPE: hard hat\, vest\, safety glasses\, closed-toe shoes.
