SUMMARY:Mercer International Middle School Tour: A Firsthand Look at Mass Timber
DESCRIPTION:Regional In-Person Tour (Seattle\, WA)\n\n\nThis unique educational event will provide an in-depth look at Asa Mercer International Middle School\, a Type III-B mass timber school recently completed in Seattle\, WA. Designers of the multi-story\, 174\,000 sqft project utilized CLT and glulam post-and-beam framing to create a sustainable learning environment that serves 1\,000 students in grades 6-8. Attendees will tour the site with project team members\, who will share strategies for successful and code-compliant mass timber projects\, including insight into design\, detailing\, and construction techniques utilized throughout the building.
