SUMMARY:Mass Timber Walking Tour
DESCRIPTION:Regional In-Person Tour (Washington\, DC)\nThis unique educational event will provide an in-depth look at three mass timber projects in Washington\, DC’s Southwest quadrant. Attendees will tour: \n\nArena Stage Theater Façade\, a custom hybrid timber structure supporting a 650-foot-long curved cable-suspended glazed façade\nDC Southwest Public Library\, a LEED Platinum mass timber structure utilizing a highly unique timber folded plate roof using dowel laminated timber (DLT)\, a steel and timber lateral system\, and glulam beams and columns with detailed timber-to-steel connections\n80M\, a 105\,000 sqft office building and the first high-rise overbuild mass timber structure in the Mid-Atlantic\n\nAfter the 80M tour\, join us in their penthouse amenity space for a networking happy hour with drinks and appetizers! We’ll be walking about a mile between the first and last tour stops.
