SUMMARY:Exploring Tall Timber Design & New Code Provisions
DESCRIPTION:Regional Online Seminar (DC\, DE\, MD\, VA\, WV)\n\n\nThe 2021 International Building Code (IBC) introduced changes allowing up to 18 stories of mass timber construction\, creating new opportunities for tall wood design. This presentation will review the tall wood code provisions\, including the three new construction types (IV-A\, IV-B\, and IV-C)\, and the technical research and testing that supported their adoption.
