Bay Area Mass Timber Tour
February 12, 2020 – 12:45 pm - 6:30 pm
Oakland, CAOakland, CA$30
Project One, Oakland – This four-story residential structure will utilize a prefabricated wood wall with Mass Plywood Panel floor structure.
975 Bryant Street, San Francisco – 975 Bryant Street is a 185-unit 5-story wood over steel and concrete podiumbuilding. Located on a former industrial site in San Francisco’s Central SOMA district, this project features CLT panels on the building’s mezzanine level.
One De Haro, San Francisco – The 1 De Haro project is pioneering the use of cross-laminated timber (CLT) in California. Popular in Europe, CLT is an emerging building material engineered from layers of lumber boards (typically 2x6s) set at right angles to one another and laminated together to create panels used in floor, roof and wall assemblies. The resulting panels have the structural capacity of concrete and are also quite sustainable.
Note: parking is very limited at Project One; attendees are strongly encouraged to use public transportation or ridesharing apps instead of driving.
*WoodWorks will provide all requisite hard hats, vests, and safety glasses for the tours. Closed-toed shoes and long pants are required. Transportation will be provided for the tour.
