Help Desks
The WoodWorks team includes technical advisors in California, the southeast and the north-central United States. They’re available to discuss specific issues and have the expertise to provide a wide range of architectural, engineering and code support, either one-on-one or through in-house presentations to an entire firm or design team. Technical support is also provided free of charge via help desks operated by the major wood associations:
- APA – The Engineered Wood Association – Specialists are available to answer questions pertaining to the specification and application of engineered wood products and systems, as well as southern pine and SPF lumber. Email help@apawood.org or call the help desk at (253) 620-7400, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Central Time.
- Southern Pine Council – For information on southern pine lumber, complete the email request form or call (253) 620-7400 with questions, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Central Time. Help desk is offered jointly with APA.
- American Wood Council – The AWC help desk provides technical assistance on engineering, building codes, standards, fire technology and research projects primarily to engineers, architects and building officials. Email awcinfo@afandpa.org or call 202-463-4713, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time for information.
- Canadian Wood Council – CWC offers an email help desk for architects, engineers, builders and designers with an emphasis on the US and Canada. View the FAQs or email info@cwc.ca.
