Contact WoodWorks
for free one-on-one technical support

Do you have a non-residential wood building project that could benefit from some technical advice? If you or your project are located in a WoodWorks region, we have a team of technical directors available to provide free one-on-one support. For example:
  • An architect designing a multi-story R-2 Occupancy building requested help with fire protection details during the Construction Document Phase.
  • During the Schematic Construction Document Phase of a museum project, the engineer requested information related to fire protection/resistance, durability, preservative treatment, the strength of certain products, and connections.
  • An engineering firm asked for clarification regarding a potentially costly issue related to roofing substrate specification compliance, which the firm had run into on several commercial building projects.
  • An architect designing a wood-frame building asked for help in locating an Underwriters Laboratory (UL) design number and Sound Transmission Class (STC) numbers for floor trusses that work with a suspended gypsum board ceiling.
Since the WoodWorks program began two years ago, our technical directors have supported almost 200 building projects in the WoodWorks regions. This includes California, the Southeast (Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina) and the North-central U.S. (Minnesota, Illinois, Wisconsin). If you practice or have a building project in one of these states, we hope you’ll remember that WoodWorks is available to help you resolve issues and, ultimately, design and build wood structures more easily and at less cost.

If you don’t practice or have a project in a WoodWorks region, we offer a live monthly webinar series as well as a recorded training library, and our website offers a wealth of other resources—including CAD/REVIT details, case studiesdesign examples and information about the resources offered by wood associations nationwide.
