- APA – The Engineered Wood Association – Offers a wide range of technical publications, builder guides and case studies covering engineered wood products and their uses. Includes materials on commercial applications such as churches, schools, golf resorts, low-rise and transportation structures. Titles are fully searchable.
- Canadian Wood Council – Offers case studies, fact sheets and technical materials on wood products and design, including issues such as green building. Also publishes Wood Design & Building magazine, which focuses exclusively on wood use in architecture and construction.
- The National Frame Building Association has created a Model Guide Specification as a generic template that is adaptable to any commercial or other building project. The guide was developed for use by architects, specifiers, project managers and other design professionals working on post-frame projects.
- Southeastern Lumber Manufacturers’ Association – Offers the Hardwood Handbook, a practical guide for builders, architects and others on the hardwood species grown in southeastern forests.

- USDA Forest Service, Forest Products Laboratory - Offers puplications and information on a range of wood research spanning from fiber and chemical science to composites, including the new 2010 edition of the Wood Handbook-Wood as an Engineering Material, prepared and updated to include fascinating new developments in the field of wood utilization.
- Western Wood Products Association – Focuses on western wood species. Offers the Online Lumber Technical Guide, which includes free digital versions of lumber technical reference publications, as well as design software, a buyer’s guide and detailed information on western wood products.
